About Me

Who is Brenda Windsor you ask, and what the heck does she know about science? Well, I am Brenda. I began teaching fifth grade science ten years ago with a background in science stemming from one methods course on how to teach science. I did have a love of science throughout my college years, and even toyed with the idea of changing my undergraduate major from fashion merchandising to chemistry. However, my social calendar was far too robust to settle to the requirements of a college chemistry major.

Fast forward from 1987 to the present. I love the whole idea that what I teach today could be different tomorrow and there really isn't a right or wrong answer. Science is all about having the ability to think and formulate theories based on information you know. When was the last time you took the time to discuss why things are the way they are with a 10 year old? Their understanding of the world around them is just amazing. They are what makes learning worth the time.

I have had to do a lot of learning in order to stay ahead... "Smarter than a 5th Grader" isn't all that easy!
